The 'Poker Face’ singer – who recently made her acting debut in an episode of US drama 'Gossip Girl’ – is reportedly determined to pursue her dramatic ambitions further and has set her sights on a big-screen musical adventure.
A source said: 'She sees acting as a natural progression in her career. "One idea she has is for a rock opera which would be a huge, big budget movie made to her own very unique ideas. But she is also keen on straight dramatic roles.
'She has the drive and confidence to make it big as an actress. It's just a matter of finding time when she is not committed to her first love – music.'
The 23-year-old singer recently admitted she barely has time for a social life because she has such a heavy workload.
She said: 'To be honest, I’m quite insulated, and I work very hard. I don’t really socialise much.'
Rihanna sings about how she was assaulted by Chris Brown on her new album.
The Barbadian singer wrote 'Cold Case Love’ about how she was attacked by then-boyfriend Chris Brown not long after the incident in February.
She said: 'It was one of the first songs I did for the album and it is one of the most emotional."
Rihanna, 21, has also revealed she was desperate to get back into the recording studio after the assault, so she could concentrate on her career rather than what had happened to her.
The pop beauty explained: "When I was given time off in March it was a little crazy. Being at home was driving me mad.
"I couldn't go anywhere. It was, like, 'Look at the poor victim!' So I called my label and said, 'I'm ready.’ '
The 'Russian Roulette’ singer also recorded some of the LP, entitled 'Rated R’, in London and admits she loves the UK capital.
Rihanna – who releases the album on November 26 - said: 'We made a lot of the album in London. We took two big trips there and spent some time just figuring out the record.
'London is one of my favourite cities, it’s where I get most of my creative energy.'
Chris attacked Rihanna in his car as they left a pre-Grammy Awards party in February, repeatedly punching her in the face and biting her arms.
He pleaded guilty to assault and in August was sentenced to six months of community service, 12 months of domestic violence counselling and five years probation.
